What Is Plantar Fasciitis?
Plantar Fasciitis is an injury sustained as the result of repetitive stress placed on the bottom of the foot. More specifically, its damage sustained on the fascia—a thin layer of fibrous tissue that protects other tissues within your feet. Many people develop Plantar Fasciitis from long periods of standing, running, or performing various load-bearing activities.
Plantar Fasciitis Symptoms
The most common symptom of Plantar Fasciitis is pain. This can be burning, stinging, stabbing or throbbing pain. Many people experience a dramatic amount of pain when they first get up in the morning, with the sensation lessening throughout the day. For others, the pain is consistent.

Finally, overweight individuals are at a higher risk for developing Plantar Fasciitis. As you gain weight, this naturally places more stress on the tissues of your feet, and the fascia tends to bear the brunt of this.
Treatments
There are a number of treatment options for Plantar Fasciitis. From special orthotic devices and splints, to stretching and strengthening the fascia itself. I’m having the same problem with my feet I was told to buy better walking shoe I did, I was told to start walking I tried but still in a lot of pain also was told not to wear flat shoes but most of my shoes are flat, not to walk around the house barefoot usually I do, when I’m standing, walking are laying down, I’m still in a lot of pain so my question to you walking on hard pavement is ok for my feet and what about splints will make pain get easier?

I have pain in only one heel, and it seems to be getting worse. Is this plantar fasciitis? Also, it hurts all day and all night, whenever I walk on it. Ouch!
Hi Katie, It is possible to have Plantar Fasciitis symptoms in only one foot! Usually this is caused by some other form of injury such as a bad sprain, or any kind of leg injury that may cause you to favor one leg over the other. Even having an imbalanced gait when walking can cause it. These and many other problems can, over time cause Plantar Fasciitis pain in just one foot.
